About Us

Hey there! I'm Tyler, the face behind Tight Lines & High Tides. I'm a 38 year-old, happily married father of 3, and a recreational fisherman with an unquenchable passion for saltwater fishing. For me, fishing is more than just a hobby; it's a way to unwind, connect with nature, and create lasting memories with my family. Growing up on the Gulf Coast of Alabama, I was practically raised on the water. Some of my fondest memories involve fishing trips with my dad, Donnie Paul, who ran several sporting goods companies including a soft plastic fishing lure company. (Those early days packing lures and working trade shows definitely sparked my lifelong love for the sport!)

These days, you'll find me balancing my career as an aerospace engineer with my true calling: exploring the Florida coast in search of my next big catch. Whether I'm casting from the shores of Cocoa Beach, cruising the Indian River Lagoon, or navigating the mangroves, I'm always seeking new adventures and honing my skills. I believe my engineering background gives me a unique perspective on fishing, allowing me to break down complex techniques into simple, easy-to-understand concepts.
